In Prayers in Jazz brengt zangeres en componiste Tabea Koloska traditionele misteksten voor koor, piano en hoorn samen met hymnen en Spoken Word. Denk aan Kyrie Eleison, Gloria, Sanctus en Agnus Dei. Tussen oude melodieën en teksten door horen we improvisaties en moderne harmonieën. De muziek wordt uitgevoerd door een projectkoor o.l.v. Tabea Koloska, met muzikale begeleiding van Hanna Marieke op piano en Lucas Jansen op hoorn. Ervaar een middag vol muziek tussen hemel en aarde.

Short Biography

Tabea Koloska groeide op in Duitsland en verhuisde in 2017 naar Nederland om haar bacheloropleiding aan het Conservatorium Maastricht te volgen. Na haar studie vertrok ze naar New York, waar ze haar Master in Jazz Studies, met een focus op zang en compositie, behaalde aan de Aaron Copland School of Music. Sinds herfst 2023 is Tabea terug in Nederland, waar ze actief is als muzikant in diverse formaties in zowel Nederland als Duitsland. (https://tabea.koloska.net)

Hanna Marieke begon op haar 17e aan het Conservatorium Utrecht, waar ze in 2018 afstudeerde met de presentatie van haar eigen muziek. Na haar studie trad ze met haar projecten op tijdens festivals zoals North Sea Jazz en Zeeland Jazz en in 2021 bracht ze haar debuutalbum Rhythms Of Grace uit. In de zomer van 2024 rondde ze haar masteropleiding aan Codarts (Rotterdam) af, met een focus op storytelling jazz. Lucas Jansen studeerde hoorn aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, waar hij zowel zijn Bachelor als Master behaalde. Tijdens zijn studie specialiseerde hij zich in zowel hoorn als natuurhoorn. Hij speelde met gerenommeerde orkesten zoals het Metropole Orkest en Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland en is lid van het hoornensemble ‘Capricorno’. Naast zijn uitvoerende werk behaalde Lucas een MA in Muziekwetenschap en richt hij zich op de combinatie van historische muziek en eigentijdse esthetiek. (https://www.lucas-jansen.com)

Tabea Koloska grew up in Germany and moved to the Netherlands in 2017 to pursue a bachelor's degree at the Conservatory of Maastricht. After completing her studies, she moved to New York, where she earned a Master’s in Jazz Studies, focusing on voice and composition, at the Aaron Copland School of Music. Lucas Jansen studied horn at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. During his studies he specialized in both French horn and natural horn. He has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Metropole Orchestra and Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland and is a member of the horn ensemble 'Capricorno'.
